A New Community
After years of Bible translation and faithful witness by missionaries, the word of God bears fruit in the lives of the people of N’Dorola and Silorola, Burkina Faso.
As a farmer and pastor, Madou Traore planted a rice field while working on the translation of the Bible. People watched in amazement as Madou’s field yielded 10 times more crop than surrounding fields and began asking the question, “What magic word do you use to make your fields grow?” Madou answered, “Jesus”.
Just like a lot of hard work and God’s blessing produced a harvest in Madou’s rice field, so it produces a harvest in God’s field. A church of 7 people has grown to two congregations and over 60 people in the past 3 years as God continues to call people to Himself.
Believers in these villages face persecution but continue to pray for their neighbors, asking God to make them bright lights, so that their neighbors, too, would be made right with God.
“May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—so that Your ways may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.” Psalm 67:1-2
