C0526 New Hope Training Center

The New Hope Training Center is reaching out to families in crisis and youth at risk. The Center provides high-quality relational training in life skills and job skills, as well as character development in a family atmosphere. This project is focused on helping disadvantaged and marginalized people in Ukrainian society to change their lives and find eternal hope.

Country: Ukraine

Project #: C0526

Needed: $52,500 (USD)

Children from families in crisis are in danger of being taken away from their parents by government social services and put in the public orphanage system. In response to this situation, New Hope Center developed the DreamKIDZ program to help children develop physically, emotionally and spiritually, and to help their parents learn Christian family values and begin practicing them. The DreamKIDZ program is weekly attended by sixty kids (age 5 to 12) and thirty parents.

Many of the orphans that we’ve worked with during the past five years now have their own children. Some of them are single mothers who lack skills and motivation to raise their children. Statistically, many of these children end up in orphanages. To break this vicious cycle, New Hope offers support groups for the young mothers, to help them learn how to love and raise their children.

It is extremely difficult for orphanage graduates and young adults displaced by war to find jobs due to the current economic situation in Ukraine. Many of these young people become vulnerable to sexual exploitation, substance abuse, or homelessness. In response to this need, New Hope provides essential job skills training like haircutting, nail service, cooking, etc., along with character development. We take a holistic approach to cover physical, social and spiritual needs. This results in a job placement or self-employment which protects disadvantaged young adults from misery and exploitation and gives them a chance for a much better future!
