About the Summit

Our theme this year is "Abandon" - Being fully abandoned to God from Hebrews 12:1-3.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

We all want to follow Jesus well. We want to live a life that's pleasing to Him; to walk in our giftedness and serve in ways that bear fruit. And yet, it's going to take more than "want to". It will require surrender and sacrifice. But there is a freedom that comes when we "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles" in order to run after our Master and pursue his Kingdom advancement. This Vision Summit weekend is designed for participants to listen for and address a number of issues that keep us from being fully surrendered - fully abandoned to God. And find freedom in the process.

Speakers and Resource Team

One of our values is having a small leadership to participant ratio so that there are lots of opportunities to connect, discern, pray and learn from fruitful leaders. A team of 10-15 missionaries, local leaders and Summit alumni will join MB Mission staff in facilitating the event, leading connect groups and being available to discern with participants throughout the weekend.

This will be a full weekend of learning and growing with Jesus! Every morning begins with time in the Word, listening to Jesus and sharing with your Connect Group (4-5 participants and leader). There will be 5 sessions throughout the weekend, including worship, teaching by guest speakers, prayer ministry, and reflections with Connect Groups where participants have the opportunity to unpack what they heard and what God is saying. Group activities, workshops, walks to and from sessions, and free times will give participants lots of time to connect, share stories and discern with other participants, speakers, MB Mission staff and long-term workers. Sunday afternoon will include a time of debrief where participants can begin to solidify the things they learned and move ahead in the assignments God has for them.

The vision of Oasis Ranch and Retreat Center is to provide a place of oasis where lives can be refreshed and restored to display God's splendor. Located on 320 acres of beautiful Kansas countryside, the world moves at a more relaxed place. During MB Mission's partnership with Oasis, many mission participants have experienced refreshment and encountered God in new ways as they get away from the business of life to be refilled before stepping out on mission. During the free times at the Summit, participants enjoy lawn or volleyball games, cool evenings of conversations on the front porch or around the fire, an abundance coffee, food and snacks, or walks through the pasture with Jesus and new friends.
